| Description: |
The body of the yellowfin tapers at both ends (cigar-shaped). The head
is long and the mouth small. The color is silver to metallic blue on the
back. They are distinquished by their yellowish fins and finlets. The tail
is widely forked.

Central California to Chile.

| History: |
These fish run in large schools, staying in clear blue water usually
between the surface and 100 ft. Will often congregrate near dropoffs and
islands.
